Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM EST
Event Description:
Amber Caron will speak about Wreaths Across America. Amber is the Communications Director for this program which was begun in Maine by Morrill and Karen Worcester who, in 1992, found themselves with a surplus of wreaths at the end of the holiday season. Morrill made arrangements to have the wreaths delivered to a part of Arlington National Cemetery that had not been receiving vistors. Now, the wreath laying has spread to over 1,000 locations in the United Sates and beyond and over 226,000 wreaths are placed at Arlington National Cemetery. The Wreaths Across America Convoy will pass through York on December 10 with a stop at the Kittery Trading Post. On December 15, wreaths honoring veterans will be placed at First Parish Church Cemetery. Old York Chapter of DAR is delighted to sponsor Amber Caron's talk.
