Dahlov Ipcar: Creative Growth@ OMAA
Dahlov Ipcar: Creative Growth opens May 1 through June 28 in the Sculpture Gallery. This installation marks a celebration of the creative life and artistic legacy of one of Maine?s most beloved talents. The exhibition retraces Ipcar?s early achievements with a selection of original works drawn from the artist?s first solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, organized in 1939 when she was just 21 years old.
Also opening the season is SALT / SEA / STONE, an exhibition of contemporary landscape photography by artist Carl Austin Hyatt, featuring works that are monumental in scale. Hyatt uses a large format view camera to create masterfully printed images rich in tonality and texture. Hyatt?s work offers a moment for contemplation, advocating for a deeper sense of communion with the landscapes he photographs.
