Film Premiere event- The Phantom Punch: Raising Ali
Fifty years ago Lewiston hosted one of the most famous sporting events of all time - Ali vs Liston II which turned out to be one of the most legendary boxing matches in history. Exactly fifty years later this famous fight will be commemorated during a special event at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee which is the very spot that the historic and controversial match took place. White Dog Arts, in Association with Executive Producer Charlie Hewitt and Producer Sandy Marquis proudly presents the world premiere screening of the documentary film, The Phantom Punch, Raising Ali. Raising Ali focuses not just on the events surrounding the famous fight, but this film is, at its core, a story about our community then and now. The story will be told through the words of current and former residents, Maine leaders past and present, participants in the event, and the use of archival material. Executive Producer Charlie Hewitt says, "this film is a love letter to our community." Rarely seen footage will be shown before the film premiere.
