Beer Tasting in Jefferds Tavern
Old York Historical Society likes to bring historic Jefferds Tavern to life with dinners, tasting and similar events. On April 1st, Old York will host a Beer Tasting in Jefferds Tavern featuring beer created by Tributary Brewing Co. in Kittery, Maine. Tod and Galen Mott will be present to talk about the beer they have selected for this event: Gose, ESB, Wee Heavy, IPA, and Belgian Tripel. More information on these brews can be found on the website for Tributary, http://www.tributarybrewingcompany.com/beers. Chef Rob Martin, a beer aficionado and chef at When Pigs Fly paired a menu to go with these beer selections which he will be cooking on the hearth in the tavern. Watch Chef Rob and hearth cook Kathleen Curtin creating your snacks right on the fire for a unique tasting experience! Menu: Spruce, Apple, and Roasted Eggplant Puffs; BBQ Chicken and Charred Onion Parsnip Boats; Maple Ham, Herb Quark Cheese, Pickles, Steam Bun; Hearth Shrimp, Roasted Serrano Tomato Compote; Szechuan Chocolate Fondue, Apricots, Pretzels, Bacon Stephen Carrigan and Mike Blair, both members of Great Bay Sailor will be raising their voices in song to add a musical overtone to the evening. Jefferds Tavern is an authentic 1700s tavern with fireplaces in each room. Mingle with guests at the party, check out what is happening on the hearth, chat with the Tributary brewers, and make new friends. Old York also boasts of our enthusiastic group of volunteers ready to serve you! Advance reservations are recommended.
