York Paddle & Pickleball Open House
The York Paddle & Pickleball Club (YPPC), a members-only sports club in scenic York, Maine, recently added four brand new pickleball courts to the club’s facilities, thanks in part to a local fundraising effort. To celebrate the completion of the courts, the club is holding an open house on Saturday, August 15th from 8 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 7 pm. The public is invited to attend and learn about the club’s pickleball programs for players of all abilities and all ages. Snacks and other goodies will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a cooler for outside beverages. For those who haven’t heard of it, pickleball is a multi-generational sport that combines the elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It's a fun sport and great exercise but doesn't require a lot of skill. That’s a big part of the reason it’s the fastest growing sport in the US. Under the current COVID-19 guidelines from the Governor of Maine, the YPPC Board of Directors encourages everyone to take all precautions deemed necessary to ensure the safety and health of themselves and their family members while attending the open house or using the courts. Attendees should plan to wear masks and RSVP for the open house so the club can manage the numbers and remain within the state of Maine’s COVID-19 guidelines.
