Visiting Artists Series: The Adam Ezra Group, Musicians
The Adam Ezra Group has a national following, both for its music and its activism. Ezra has been compared to Bruce Springsteen and Bono for his talent and stage presence, and the group’s 2011 debut album, Ragtop Angel, shot to the top of the Amazon charts, peaking just behind John Mayer and Sarah Bareilles. The group has toured with such notables as The Goo Goo Dolls, Blues Traveler, Dwight Yoakam, and the Gin Blossoms, and has won numerous honors, including “Band of the Year” at the 2013 New England Music Awards. Ezra’s diverse background—he has served in the relief effort in Kosovo, practiced environmental geography in South Africa, and worked as a farmer in Canada—informs his music and inspires the band’s social activism. Through its non-profit organization RallySound, the group helps organize live musical events that inspire communities and encourage grassroots action. http://www.adamezra.com/
