"Then & Now" Television Premire
The Kittery Historical & Naval Museum is proud to announce the television premiere of “Kittery: Then & Now” on Kittery’s Channel 22 on Wednesday, July 6 at 7p.m. The 30 minute slide show is a historic look back through Kittery’s past, highlighting our architectural treasures with photos from then and now. The program was produced by the Museum in cooperation with Chick Photography and includes the photographs of J. Frank Walker and Sherm Higgins. Kittery’s churches, Grand Hotels and Forts are all represented as well as schools and businesses. It’s a trip back in time to everyday life at the turn of the century, when trolleys, trains and ferries were the popular mode of transportation. You’ll meander along the streets past William Whipple and William Pepperrell’s birthplaces then out to the Isles of Shoals; travel through the Shipyard and across the Bridges to a different place in time. Many of Kittery’s present neighborhoods can be seen in these images from the past. Following its premiere, “Kittery: Then & Now” will be shown several times throughout the summer on Channel 22 which is available to Kittery’s Comcast subscribers. The channel is also available on the Town’s website: www.kitteryme.gov Copies of the DVD are on sale at the Kittery Historical & Naval Museum, 200 Rogers Rd Ext. or by calling the Museum at 207-439-3080.
